I unfortunately missed out on the success that was Cohorted's first beauty box last month, so I was super excited to see what was to be included in this months! I had super high expectations for Cohorted's beauty boxes. They are an online retailer which feature discounts on big brand makeup, such as: MAC, Chanel, Urban Decay etc. From the beginning, I knew that they had the potential to have amazing boxes, but my question was; would they live up to my expectations?
This months box blew me out of the woods, as it featured Bareminerals, Too Faced, Urban Decay and Sleek. I was running around and squealing when I first unboxed it. Prior to committing to the Cohorted beauty boxes, I had a little sneak around to research what a typical box was like. In none of my research did I ever see such well branded makeup in a single box. I felt like I had hit the jackpot!
BareMinerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment RRP £45.00
I find this a very...strange product. When I opened it I was fully expecting a cream, I mean it looks like it would hold a cream. As it's retail price is £45, on it's own it is worth twice the price of the box. The treatment is supposed to 'reduce the appearance of pores, increase luminosity and deliver faster cell turnover'. Your supposed to buff it into your skin after moisturising and such. The part I don't really understand is why there is different shades of it - it almost makes it seem like a powder foundation then?
Sleek Highlighting Palette in Precious Metals RRP £9,99
The packing for this was so unexpected, I thought that it would be in the regular matte, black Sleek packaging. This dark metallic case makes it look far more high end that the rest of the Sleek brand. There are four different highlight shades which is perfect for complimenting all skin tones. Three of them are very smooth, creamy formulas while the other is a powder. I am looking forward to doing a more in depth review in the future.
Too Faced Exotic Colour Intense Eye Shadow RRP £15.00
As bad as it sounds, I had no idea that Too Faced even had single eye-shadows - I only ever see their palettes, such as the coveted Chocolate Bar Palette. The packaging is so cute, with a small window so that you can quickly identify the shade. The colour Copper Peony has such pigmentation that the colour just pops! I could definitely see myself buying more of these.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara RRP £8.00
This is a product that I have heard a lot of but never picked up for myself. I am quite glad that this is the sample product in the box as I'm a big fan of mini mascaras; they so quick and easy for travling. I was worried that this would have a thin comb, instead of a really thick spool. Thankfully the spool is really-thick and full, which I think are the best type of mascara wands.
I missed preordering the April box, but I will be ordering the May beauty box! Did everyone else find that it has, so far, lived up to the hype?
