When I first came on the makeup scene, highlighters were not that big of a deal. The focus was more on contouring so hard that your cheekbones looked like they could cut glass. Over the last year and a half (sometimes it feels like I've been blogging a lot longer), I have noticed that highlighters have turned into 'THE' product to have.
Strobing is one of the key beauty trends of the year; using highlighters emphasise the highest part of your face. Everybody wants that super glow, healthy looking skin right now. I have been slow on the highlighter uptake, which might explain why I don't have that many. Highlighters are definitely one of the products I will be buying on my next trip to the States.
The highlighters I currently own are:
Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow
Goddess of Love Tripe Baked Highlighter
Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in Pink Light
MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder in Pink Buttercream
Looking at the swatches, despite the Revlon Highlighting Palette being described a highlighting product, it is more of a shimmery blush. I also seem to have a favourite type of highlighter, theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer being the exception. Pale, light pink highlighters seem to be my thing. I'm looking to branch out my highlighters a bit, maybe a Becca highlighter? Hope you enjoyed this little peek into my makeup collection.
Let me know, what is your favourite highlighter of all time?
