I was away to title this post as my updated skincare routine, but I have realised that I haven't done one already. Nearly two years this blog has been running (!!) and I have never posted an insight into my skincare routine. Well that's all about to change!
My skincare routine starts with the proper removal of all my makeup. I use two pumps of the MAC Cleanse Off Oil to start to break up the makeup, followed by using my Garner Micellar Water on a cotton pad for any stubborn mascara or eyeliner.
Next I will rinse off the oil and use the Lush Face Cleanser in Let the Good Times Roll. It's just an extra step to clean my face and make sure absolutely all the oil is gone. Three times a week I will give my face a good exfoliation by using the St Ives Apricot Scrub. I really enjoy it; it's not too harsh or abrasive, but still does what it's supposed to. Every two weeks I will use a Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strip to unclog the pores on my nose.
Following that I will use a toner to give my skin a bit of a calming treatment. I have only ever used the Simple Soothing Facial Toner which contains chamomile and witch hazel. It's also great for sensitive skin so I know I'm unlikely to have an adverse reaction to it.
My final step is to moisturise using Philosophy Hope in a Jar. It's a thick, rich moisturiser for normal to dry skin. When my skin feels super dry and unhydrated I will use the Amore Pacific Moistsire Bound Sleeping Recovery Masque. Right now I'm down to my last few samples but I'm really considering buying the full price from Sephora.
As a treat to my skin I like to use the Lush Fresh Face Masks. I'm currently on Love Lettuce, which I definitely enjoying much more than the Mask of Magnaminty.
As you can probably see, I haven't invested as much into my skincare products as much as my makeup. I keep promising myself that I'll start, but I always end up buying more makeup. I still have loads of samples to try, maybe when I post an updated skincare routine next year one of them might have wiggled their way in. Still, I think I've got a good thing going on.
Question Time! In the interest of looking at more skincare, what it the one product that makes your skincare routine?
