New Favourite Budget Lipsticks

It has been quite a few weeks since I last posted, for which I can only apologise. My Macbook unexpectedly died and was not worth the money spent to repair so I had to wait a long time for my insurance to send out a replacement. Now that everything is back to normal I should be able to easily return to my three times a week posting schedule, although I cannot promise which days I will be able to upload.

I was so excited and impressed by these Wet and Wild Megalast Lipsticks that I had to start singing their praise from the roof. I picked them up randomly during my last run to Walgreens, not expecting them to be that great, but I was so wrong. The Wet and Wild Megalast Lipsticks are a range of affordable, matte lipsticks. The packaging is very basic, but in a nice way? It's hard to explain. I get a simple and clean feeling from the packaging and I enjoy being able to see the colour of the lipsticks through the clear caps. The shades I picked up were Cherry Bomb, Wine Room and Just Peachy.

Just Peachy is a very pretty pinky, coral pinky shade which is very brightening and summer-esque. I'm unsure if it's the most fluttering shade on my skin tone, but I love it none the less.

Wine Room is a very berry pink colour which was very aptly named. While being very pink toned, it still has a nice flattering red base making it very wearable on all skin tones.

Cherry Bomb is a quite a deep, dark burgundy colour which just screams autumn and winter, to me. I can see this getting so much use in the next coming months. It's strange, isn't it, that summer is not over, yet here I am waiting for the colder months with anticipation.

Now the best bit is that these are some of the best matte lipstick formulas that I have ever used! I find it very comparable to my MAC Velvet Teddy. Honestly, the formula is so similar to me that I notice no difference. The texture is so comfortable and lasts for quite a few hours before needing to be reapplied. And for there to be such a big price difference between the two, and little difference in wear, I would have no hesitation picking more up.

Who has tried these lovelies before? Do you agree that they are phenomenal for their price tag?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
