March Monthly Beauty Favourites

It's been a while since I've put a post out about my monthly favourites, I've been playing around with too many new products to really get a good feel for them. But in March, I started to get back into using things that I really enjoy. My go to products in March were all about being travel-friendly (hence why the majority of them are travel-sized) and simple to use.

I have been loving my Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Crush. I wrote a blog post focused on the specific shade because it is possibly the closest thing ever to my perfect nude. I've been using it so much that it's starting to run out.

My skin has been seriously lacking in the hydration department this past month, which I put down to the the cold temperatures. To combat that effect, the Make Up For Ever Hydrating Primer has been my top pick. To be fair, this primer was my go to for the majority of winter. I'm surprised that this mini tube has lasted me this long.

The NARS Blush Duo in Hot Sand and Orgasm has been my pick for the past month. I enjoy that there is both a highlighter and a blush in one. It makes it super easy to throw in my bag and travel with. It's also a really flattering combination, as Hot Sand is a golden champagne highlighter and Orgasm is a warm rosy blush with a golden sheen.

Before I started using the Pixi Glow Tonic I really didn't understand the hype behind it. So when I came across one day in Urban Outfitters, I thought I'd see what all the hype was all about. I can one hundred percent say that this does a lot to brighten my skin.  I definitely say that this will be a firm fixture in my future beauty favourites.

My last favourite for the month of March is The Body Shop Body Butter in Wild Argan Oil. It's not what I'd usually enjoy in a fragrance. I'm usually more into fruity, sweet and floral fragrances. Wild Argan Oil has more of a warm musk scent to it. What I enjoy most about The Body Shop range of body butters is that they are non-greasy and feel super moisturising.

I'm looking forward to hopefully getting some warmer weather in April. Despite the expectation that Spring brings warmer weather, Scotland was not the most pleasant place in March. Last month we experienced an extreme snow blizzard, freezing temperatures and an drizzling rain that lasts days. I want to start breaking out the dresses and sandals already! I want to start wearing more shimmery gold makeup and coral lipsticks.

Let me know what your favourite products use in March were!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
