Ultimate Summer Nails

I made the decision to not have my nails professionally done before I go on holiday, instead I want to save the money for a splurge in Duty-Free. I'm just going to do my own french tipped nails, so that they are no fuss and I don't have to lug about ten bottles of nail polish away with me. This has led to my hunt for the perfect summer nail colour, which I think I have found!

I picked up two new Rimmel nail polishes on offer as 2 for £5. Rimmel have some of the nicest polishes in the drugstore which are great quality. The majority of the polishes I own are from Rimmel because I like them so much.

The first one I picked up was part of the Rita Ora collection and is called Bestival Blue. I originally thought that it would be quite similar to Too Cool to Tango, but it turns out that they are very, very different. Bestival Blue is a medium-deep cornflower blue creme nail polish. I has very good pigmentation and is completely opaque after two thinner coats.

The second that I chose was Rose Libertine which is just part of the normal 60 seconds Super Shine line. I own lots of pink coloured nail polishes but this one just spoke to me! Rose Libertine is a warm toned pinky-peach colour. It's pigmentation is not as good as Bestival Blue and required an extra coat to reach the same opacity.

It's not just that they are amazing colours on their own, but I think that they would also look great worn at the same time. I think that these will be the only two polishes that make it across the Atlantic with me.

Which is your favourite?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
