Holiday Makeup

I know lots of people have already done their version of this post since summer is nearing it's end, but I still have to go on holiday. I seem to have left my summer holiday until the last possible moment.

Summer Holiday Makeup for on Travel to Florida

As I'm going to Florida, I have been given quite a high luggage allowance, but I plan on bringing back A LOT! This means that I have to be rather scrimping with what goes in as too much will leave little space to bring back. I probably still have too much!

For my base I have bareMinerals Original Foundation because it's going to be hot and I'll have sun-cream on, a liquid foundation will just slide off. Maybelline Baby Skin Primer just in case I go anywhere in the evening and need my makeup to last that little bit longer, and Benefit Boi-ing as I'm prone to breakouts on holiday. The Urban Decay Eden Primer Potion in case I want to wear eye-shadow, which is not my norm on holiday but I might want to change things up. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder for touching up during the day; I'm doing all the theme parks so a lot of pictures will be taken. The Makeup Revolution Blushing Heart is a fantastic everyday blush that goes well with everything. My Essence 'how to make BROWS wow!' kit to fill in and tame my eyebrows.

Summer Holiday Eye Makeup for on Travel to Florida

For my eyes and lips I packed quite simply (for me!). The Rimmel Glam Eyes eyeliner as eyeliner only is my typical go to on holiday. My favourite Bourjois Volumizer Mascara as it is  two part system which can be worn separate; I can achieve defined lashes or thick volume from the same product. The Makeup Revolution Go! Palette was included as the highlighter and contour are absolutely divine, and on holiday I want super glowy skin. The Body Shop Plum Born Lippy to keep my lips moisturised, and the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'On and On Bronze' as an everyday all over eye colour!

I made sure that my brush collection was not too big; three for face and three for my eyes. Now one lip product may seen very limiting, but I plan on happily skipping off to Walmart and Walgreens pretty early on the trip, which gives me access to anything I forgot and/or want.

After listing all these I feel like this will still be quite a lot. I might decide to take out my Makeup Revolution Go! Palette and substitute it with the Makeup Revolution Goddess of Love Highlighter. Maybe I might also lose the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer as by nighttime I'm usually too exhausted and just chill at the hotel.

Too much or not enough? Let me know!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
