January Favourites

Where has January went!? Life is moving honestly too fast; let's slow down and take a moment. The next two months are the busiest part of my year so please forgive any dips in activity during it. My musical society is performing the European Premier of Heathers the Musical; it has never been performed anywhere in Europe yet. So, basically, will becoming very busy soon with rehearsals, tracking down costumes, ticket sales, more rehearsals, etc. Any way, back on topic and onto my January favourites!

Maybelline Fit Me! Mate + Poreless
My ultimate, will continue to repurchase favourite. I find it a fairly medium-to-full coverage formula. It lasts such a long time before I start to see any fading or break up.

Benefit Gimme Brow
Another favourite that I will continue to repurchase. Most other products I use, such as the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Pomade and Makeup Revolution Ultra Aqua Brow Tint, leave y brows looking a bit to heavy. It may be that I just have to practice a bit more. The Gimme Brow just darkens and defines my brows in a pleasing, natural way.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
I have struggled to find the perfect concealer for my fairy pale skin. I heard that the Naked Skin Concealer was a very firm blogger favourite, so I took a chance. It is the best shade watch that I have tried too date. The coverage as well is very strong, perfect for my dark underage circles.

Makeup Revolution F104 Brush
January has been a month of trying out brand new brushes, and his one from Makeup Revolution is starting to become a firm favourite. It's great for setting my face, or I quite like to use it for finishing powders.

Very boring favourites this month, I feel. Hopefully, there'll be some excitement, some colour in next months favourites. I still have loads of new stuff I'm trying out to see if I like it, or not.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
