Stila 'In the Light' Palette

Ever have one of those days where your mind is totally uninspired, and can't make a decision of which palette to use? Where you don't want to do anything too fancy? I have those days all the time; it sometimes feels like there are too many different options to pick one. When this happens I always pick up my Stila 'In the Light' Palette. This was the first big brand name palette that started off my whole collection, and I will always once back to it in times of need.

The palette is full of wearable everyday neutrals. There is good mix of shimmers and mattes in the palette making it very versitile. What really impresses me was how buttery and smooth the shimmery shades feel; super high quality. The pigmentation of the shimmer shades are the best, with the matte shades being just the slightest bit less so. That's great if your like me and always end up using a little bit too much.

The first five shades are: Bare (matte yellow-beige), Kitten (shimmery golden-champagne), Bliss (matte peachy-brown), Sunset (shimmery copper-red), and Sandstone (matte medium brown).

The next five shades are; Bubbly (shimmery gold), Gilded Gold (warm chocolate with gold glitter), Luster (dark taupe-brown with gold glitter), Night Sky (Shimmery blue-grey), and Ebony (matte black). Also included in the palette is the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Damsel.

I like to use this palette a lot for travelling, which yo could tell by some of the dents and marks on it. I'm not a super big fan of cardboard packaging because of how grubby it can end up being, but at the same time I like how compact it is.

Who else purchased this palette for their collection? I enjoy watching makeup collection videos on youtube, and it seems like everyone has one.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
