February Monthly Favourites

Celebrate Body Lotion
There has been such a cold snap hovering over Scotland right now, and my skin has certainly been feeling it. Celebrate has been helping a lot right now. It's not too strongly fragranced, but is super-moisturising.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
I picked up a small bottle to compare with my Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Spray, and let me say I'm loving it. It is what I use for more special occasions, such as shows and University events. The staying power of my makeup after using this is phenomenal.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I was after a Beautyblender back in December, but unfortunately SpaceNk were all out at the time I was there. Instead, I picked up a two pack of these lovelies, and I was so happy I did. I mostly use them for blending out my concealer as it makes it look so flawless. Much better than if I was to use a normal concealer brush.

Bath & Body Works PocketBac
Out of all the Bath & Body Works that I brought back from Florida, these are the true stand out stars. I love the Pocketbacs! The idea that you can slip then in a little pouch and you can hang them from belt loops, lanyards and even on bag straps. I love them. Plus, they all seem to smell amazing!

Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Seduce
I'm currently enjoying a cream blush kick at the moment. I'm finding that my cheeks are showing a slight dry texture to them, and using all liquid/cream products is helping to hide it. Right now I'm really loving this Illamasqua Cream Blush as it gives a really natural, subtle flush.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
