March Monthly Favourites

The time has come again for my monthly favourites. When I was in my Alex drawers picking out what I had been reaching for most this month, I had a really hard time. There has not been a lot of consistent makeup products this month; only a small handful.

Angels on Bare Skin
I can say that picking this up has been one of my best decisions. It smells strongly of almonds, and reminds me of the Oatifix Fresh Face Mask. After using it, my skin feels so clean and soft!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist
The is my go-to lip product when ever I'm stuck deciding. What I enjoy most about it, is that it sets down to one of the best unmovable, matte finishes. I'd genuinely compare it to the likes of Kat von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Makeup Revolution The Matte Blush in Fusion
Like the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet is my go-to lip product, the Makeup Revolution The Matte Blush is my go-to blush. It's a deep warm-toned peachy-pink and is very suitable for everyday wear

Alberto Balsam Smooth and Sleek Hair Oil
It's getting to that point in the year when I have the first of my haircuts; I only have two or three a year. I've noticed my hair getting a little bit to 'dry', so I picked this up. I use it before I hop in the shower as like a moisturising treatment.

That's my monthly favourites, nothing too exciting this month. Trying out a bunch of new products for Spring which, depending on how they work and how much I enjoy them, might just make it into my next monthly favourites.

What have you been loving this month?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
