Spring Beauty Haul

It's been so long since I have last done any major makeup shopping; I think it was Boxing Day when I last went a bit 'wild'. Boots was running deals on the majority of their brands, my interest was being pulled by the '3 for 2' on Revlon. I was desperatly needing a new foundation as my Maybelline Fit Me! was down to it's last drops.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Fragrance Mist
It's my type of scent; sugary sweet with just a hint of zesty freshness. It was reduced down to half price so I just picked it up, but I can quickly see it becoming gym Spring scent.

MAC Flamingo Park Beauty Powder in Sunny Surprise
My only impulse buy of the whole trip. I was surprise to see the Flamingo Park display at my local MAC counter completely in-stock, like nobody was really interested in any of the products. Most of my MAC collection is made up of my lipsticks with a single blusher and bronzer to round it out. I felt like branching out a bit, picking up the Beauty Powder in Sunny Surprise.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 110 Ivory
My Maybelline Fit Me! is on it's last little drops, so it was time to get a new foundation. I really under estimated how hard it would be to get a good match. Everyone recommended the lightest Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, but it was far too yellow. After a good half an hour of spacing up and down the beauty aisle, I found that the Revlon Colorstay in 110 Ivory has enough of a pink undertone to suit my neutral-cool skin.

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow
As there was '3 for 2' going on at the time I picked out another two products that I had been having my eye on. The Revlon Highlighting Palette looks something similar to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, so I thought it would be nice to try.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion
When ever I'm in America, liquid lipsticks are nearly all I buy as the British drugstores just don't have any equivalent. At least until the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor was released. I was so excited to see it on the display that I did not second guess my decision to pick it up.

Hourglass Extreme Sheen High-Shine Lipgloss in Primal
I've been loving my  Hourglass Opaque Rouge so much that I decided to pick up the Extreme Sheen High-Shine Lipgloss. I'm not really a lipgloss person, but the Primal was just such a pleasing shade.

Philosophy Hope in a Jar
I've heard that Philosophy is a really great brand, and that their cleanser is like a raved about product. I have been having super dry skin, like really bad, so I picked up their Hope in a Jar. It's supposed to be an extra rich moisturiser so hopefully it'll be good.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty
New Lush mask for me! I picked out the Mask of Magnaminty because it's self-preserving, and lasts a lot longer than any of the one you have to keep in the fridge ever do. It smells so minty fresh!

Have you picked up any new Spring season bits and bobs for your collection?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
