Autumnal Illamasqua Haul

Autumn is fast approaching, I believe September 22nd is the official seasonal change. I've decided to be proactive with my Autumnal makeup update. I went to my one stop makeup shop, aka the makeup heaven that is Tk Maxx, and they had just received a huge Illamasqua shipment. My reach into Illamsasqau has been quite limited, mainly their amazing nail varnishes, and I could not wait to get my hands on some new products.

The first and possibly most exciting was The Illamusthaves Set. It was released in three different variations, but I believe is the Charisma Collection. I'm not 100% sure but I believe this was a Christmas gift set from last Christmas, so 2015?

Just from the little bit I've researched. I thought that a pigment, a nail varnish and a highlighter it would be a nice broadening of my collection.

The pigment is in the colour Fervent, the nail varnish is in Charisma and the highlighter is in the shade Aurora.

The other little bit that I picked up was the Reflection palette. The palette has a very natural colour scheme which is one of the reasons that I picked it up.

It also just looks very Autumn focused, with the taupe, bronze and navy shades. Such a good choice! I figured that it would be a very good introduction to Illamasqua eyeshadows, and to find out whether I would enjoy their formula and pigmentation. The eye shadows all look like they would be perfect for all over washes of colour and shimmer.

I am looking forward to testing all these great new purchases throughly and hopefully, if they work out well, you may just see them appearing in their own little post.

Out of curiosity, what is the one makeup brand that you have been wanting to try more products from?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
