Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Big Bang (+ matching lipliner!)

Have you ever just looked at a lipstick and thought, 'You're so unwearable but I must have you in my collection'? Yeah. We have all been there, whether it's that totally one trend black lippie or a big, bold navy blue. Well I hadn't, not until I met my match last week. I was browsing the stand for Urban Decay's new collection of Vice lipsticks. Now they are not totally new to me, they were in Sephora when I was in America at June, but I had never had enough time just to browse over all the new colours. I mean, there are a HUNDRED new shades! Needless to say, after a solid half an hour of studying all the shades, I flounced into my University lecture with two new impulse buys. All because I have no self control. I may have to start walking the long route to class and avoiding Debenhams altogether.

My 'impulse' buy was the Vice lipstick in the shade Big Bang and it's matching lipliner. I know what you're thinking, 'Now I know why this started off with talking about unwearable colours'. I couldn't help myself, I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

Talking about the Big Bang lipliner first. This is my first Urban Decay lipliner and I have to say I am impressed. The texture is soft and creamy, and not at all drying. The pencil just glides along my lips without any snagging or tugging. The colour of Big Bang is a bold fuchsia with just a hint of the pink glitter that the full lipstick contains. I own no other lipliner like this or as bold a this. The rest of my lipliners are all more nudey pinks so this was a definite step out of my comfort zone.

The Big Bang lipstick is just so astoundingly beautiful. When you swatch the lipstick, it looks like it is a shade or two cooler than the matching lipliner. I think that could just be the effect of the high amount of shimmer to it. And let's talk about that shimmer. This lipstick is just chock-a-block full of it. Alas, that does make the texture a bit 'thicker' than say a normal lipstick, but man is it worth it!

I would highly recommend both the Big Bang lipliner and the lipstick to anyone who is fearless and loves to try bold makeup. If you are a bit more wary, then just using the lipliner with some moisturising balm would be a lot more subtle. This is definitely my 'out-there' beauty purchase for the year.

What do you think? Big Bang - yay or nay?

Farewell to Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

As you may, or may not, know Lime Crime are discontinuing their Unicorn Lipsticks. Such a sad thing, I know. I remember first hearing of the lipstick from a family member who had one in their collection. I always promised myself that one day, I would have a Unicorn Lipstick. When I seen their Instagram post about the discontinue, I immediately went onto their website and bought not one or two, but THREE Unicorn Lipstick. Let me tell you I have never been happier; their are no post buy regrets on these babies!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.
Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I knew th…
