April Monthly Beauty Favourites

Hi guys, remember me! Yeah, it's been a while since I've uploaded a post. I'm so sorry. April was a very busy month for me, preparing for my final exams. Fortunately, I only have two left and then I'm a slave to my blog again. I have a very large backlog of posts that I am so eager to share with you all. It's the start of May so I thought I'd sit down and do my April Beauty Favourites. I feel like I've been using some great products!

Bareminerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion
I can say my skin has definately improved since I began using this. I picked this up just before Christmas, and have been using it since; so it's had a nice long test. Overall, my skin texture has improved and evened out. While it doesn't give my skin a super hydrated look, it does give a it small hydration boost that makes it feel so soft.

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Modesty
I feel like my lipstick game is all about finding the perfect nude. Modesty has been my goto shade for the past month. It is a neutral toned pinky nude shade that is so very pretty. While the Cremesheen finish is not my favourite, just because I don't feel it lasts as long, Modesty can last over over four hours. A win in my book!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
My first ever highend foundation! I love how I can take the coverage of this all the way to nearly a full coverage. I'm dealing with a lot of spots right now so I need the fuller coverage. I was orginigally matched at the counter to 3N1 Ivory Beige, however I felt that the shade was far too dark and yellow for my skin tone, and after numerous tests, 1C0 Shell was my proper shade. It's as pale as my other foundations and pink based; how I prefer my foundations.

theBalm Frat Boy Blush
Frat Boy is a pale peachy pink blush with a matte finish. It is what i have been reaching for on a daily basis. It is just such a nice, every day colour. I love how pigmented Frat Boy is, I only need the lightest touch to get a pretty flush. The first time I used this I had no idea how pigmented it would be and I ended up being on the verge of having clown cheeks.

That's it for my April Beauty Favourites. I have two more final exams then I can completely go back to my regualr three days a week posting schedule.

Let me know what some of your April favourites were!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
