MAC Liptensity Lipstick in Driftwood

I'm back after a long month long hiatus! To make the story short, I have been seriously struggling with finishing University and trying to decide what I'm now going to do with my life. The pressure got a little too much and so I've been living under a rock until now. Like, total social media blackout. I've also struggled with inspiration, and just generally feeling 'blue'. But I'm back and making the attempt to get back into the swing of things.

The MAC Liptensity lipstick in the shade Driftwood has become a firm favourite of mine recently. It's been hanging about in my collection since they were released way back last year, but I never really gave it a chance until now. I find that the shade is so unique to any of the other lipsticks that I own. Driftwood is a pale beige nude shade that has just the slightest hint of a pale purple undertone. This has joined my small collection of perfect nude shades.

The packaging of the Liptensity is super sleek and simple. The top cap is coloured to match the shade of a lipstick. I really like the packaging, more so than that of the regular MAC lipsticks. It's convenient to just look at the lipstick and immediately know what colour of lipstick I'm picking out. With regular MAC lipsticks, I have to just pick up different ones at random and check their bottom label before I find what I'm looking for.

The texture is very smooth and creamy on the lips. I love a good matte lipstick, but the satin finish is a nice mix up to my collection. It feels super moisturising and hydrating, but it does not seem to comprise the vibrancy or the longevity of the colour. I can typically get 4+ hours of wear before I even have to worry about any touch ups. If I don't eat anything. Otherwise, I find that it becomes a necessity to reapply after eating.

I really wish I had picked up more of the Lipstensity lipsticks when they were released. I can't remember if they were limited edition, or not. I might have to pop into my local MAC counter and see if there are any different colours still available.

Who else has tried the MAC Liptensity lipsticks? What other shades should I look into trying?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
