Maybelline ColourSensational Lipstick in Honey Beige

Nude lipsticks. What can I say? Sometimes trying to find the right nude for your complexion can seem like a daunting task. I know that I, personally, am always on that hunt for the perfect nude lipstick. One that's not to deep or pastel, and neither too brown or pink toned; just that perfect middle ground that seems impossible to find. This brings me to my newest nude lipstick, the Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Honey Beige.

The shade was originally released a while back as part of a collection of nude lipsticks, known as the 'Stripped Nudes'. The collection covered, as the name suggests, a range of nude toned lipsticks that are suitable for many different skin tones. I think there were five different nude lipsticks in total, but I could be wrong. As a special touch for being part of the 'Stripped Nudes' collection, all the lipsticks were given a pretty nude coloured cap. I enjoy that little detail as it is much easier to identify which colour is which in my Maybelline lipstick collection; I don't have to uncap them all.

Honey Beige is a very brown toned nude shade. There is very little to no, pink undertone to this lipstick that I can see. The shade shows up as a very warm caramel brown shade on my lips, neither too pastel or too dark. The colour applies evenly so that there's a nice wash of colour on the lips.

Honey Beige has a very creamy texture on the lips. I found that it applies quite smoothly and As it does have a very moisturising finish, a bit of the potential wear time is sacrificed. I find that I have to do frequent touch ups when I am wearing it, especially after eating or drinking. However, because it is such a light nude shade I find that any fading of the colour is hardly noticable until there is absolutely nothing on the lips.

Honey Beige is a nice basic brown nude lipstick that I highly reccommend if you are looking for a nude lipstick on the warmer side of the colour spectrum. And while I really like it, it is perhaps not the nude lipstick of my dreams. I need something with just a touch more of a pink undertone to it.

What do you found to be your best nude lipstick, to date?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
