Sephora Tarte Birthday Gift

The free birthday gift that Sephora offers to it's Beauty Insiders is one of my favourite perks. Whenever I'm in America around the month of my birthday I always make sure to pick it up. This year I was actually over the allotted time that Sephora give you to pick it up, however the nice lady at Sephora still let me have mine.

I had two options: either a little skincare gift for Claudalie or a makeup gift from Tarte. Neither brands I have much experience testing out. I picked the little Tarte set because I am much more into my makeup than my skincare.

The gift set consists of an Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade Paaarty and a Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit. A cute little addition to the gift set is that at the top is written 'Happy Birthday Tartelette!', which I think is a nice little extra touch. Both products are similar in colour; a dusty nude pink shade with Birthday suit swatching a few shades darker.

Amazonian Clay Blush is a deluxe sample size and I just think it's the cutest thing ever! It's so small and fits in the palm of your hand. The blush is very neutral and perfect for everyday wear. The blush is so pigmented that a little bit goes a long way, however it blends out very easily.

Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit has become my perfect nude! I have finally found it!!! The formula is very similar to that of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, as it doesn't completely dry down and stays quite creamy on the lips.

I am a massive fan of both the products included in the Tarte Birthday Gift! I really want to try out different colour varieties, especially the Amazonian Clay Blush. If you are a big makeup fan, as opposed to skincare, then the Tarte Birthday Gift should definitely your choice.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
