New SS16 Trends at #FashionLive!

On Saturday, I had the honour of attending the Fashion Live! event at my local shopping centre as a blogger. This was my first event as a blogger, and I have to say: what an experience! At the event there was both fashion masterclasses and beauty demonstrations. I was only able to attend of a short time, due to a prior engagement, but I was so sad to leave.

The fashion masterclass I was present for featured clothing from Primark and New Look; both my shops of choice. The lovely presenter displayed several different ss16 fashion trends from across these two shops. The main features were: boho, nautical, monochrome and 'pink soda'.

During the fashion masterclasses, the presenter spoke about having a capsule wardrobe; key pieces that was used to create different outfits. One of my favourites was this pink waterfall blazer, which can be used to create there different looks. I alway want to just throw all my clothes away any start a capsule wardrobe, downsize the amount of clothes I own, but I never do.

Chunky heeled sandals are very much in this year! This is great because me + heels = disaster. The 'girl-friend' jean is also a staple piece of this seasons wardrobe, which I was very excited about. I'm never very 'on-trend' and to find out a pair of jeans I bought two weeks ago are considered to be very in right now, makes me very excited!

While I was there, I also experienced a Urban Decay demonstration. The artist from the Debenhams counter demonstrated a very sun kissed, glow look using the new summer collection that has just hit stores! Using the Beached Bronzer to give a light contour, and the Afterglow Highlighter to create a subtle glow to the skin, the artist created one of the prominent looks I have been seeing all over Instagram. I was practically bouncing in my seat at the end because the demonstration wasn't scheduled until 1.30pm, which meant I would missed it. The artist also converted the audience over to the worship of the All-Nighter Setting Spray. After applying the Naked Flushed to her wrists, she sprayed one with the setting spray and, at the end of the demonstration, wiped them away. The Naked Flushed with the All-Nighter Setting Spray never budged an inch!

Some of my favourite shoes from Office, and accessories from Ness! I love that the bags and purses from Ness are tartan. They're always such good quality too!

The Fashion Live Overgate team were very kind as to create blogger gift back for those who attended, and I couldn't be more thankful. Everything in my bag will go to very good use, especially the notebook and sticky notes. I am the type of blogger that prefers to write notes constantly, so they will be very helpful.

With going to Florida later in the year, I will need to start picking up little summery bit of clothing, and this event definitely has me prepared!

What is your  favourite key ss16 fashion, or beauty, trend?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
