June Monthly Favourites

I say this every month it seems like, but this year is just whizzing past! Soon it'll be my birthday in August, September I'm back for my last year of University, then Halloween, Bonfire Night and....Christmas! Basically, every month after July has a special event bringing me closer to the end of the year. Save my soul; I'm not ready for that yet!

As you are all probably well aware, I have been in Florida. My time there was pretty much half full makeup, and half basics. I had a lot less choice, using my travel makeup bag, so it really gave me a chance to get to know some of my products. My favourites were those that I used everyday, regardless of whether the weather was too hot or significantly cooled dow.

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara
First off, as much as I have loved this, I hate the name; so cringe worthy. The product however is amazing at giving me super volumised, defined lashes. I wish I had tried this sooner. I now really want to try the waterproof version because I sometimes, slightly, smudges under my eye. But, still, ten out of ten!

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss in Rose and Shine
I love the tingly lip plumping sensation of the Sexy Mother Pucker glosses. I can handle this one, unlike the Too Faced Color Bomb! Lip Injection; they burn like hell. This was a great product for when I was wanting a really natural fresh look; a little bit of colour and lots of shine.

Benefit Gimme Brow
Love, love, love! This is one of my holy grail brow products. I use it over the top of my bow pencil to add definition of my brows, and set them for my day ahead. I can fully confirm that this combo is totally sweat proof.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe
My second holy grail brow product, one that I will continue to repurchase! This has genuinely revolutionised my brow routine, and it lasts so long. When I bought it I thought that, after doing my brows everyday, it would last me a month, but here it is still going strong!

Tarte Eye Lash Curler
I have to curl my eyelashes, especially when I wear my glasses. It opens my eye up so much more than if I just left it. My Tarte curler is my favourite!

See you same time next month!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
