Outlet Makeup Haul

This past weekend I celebrated my 25th birthday! I refuse to believe that I am now a quarter of a century. It feels like yesterday I graduated high school, but it's actually been SEVEN years!! My mind has been blown.

I'm not a big birthday celebration person; my ideal way to spend my birthday is to go shopping and have a nice lunch. So, on the day of my birthday, I took a little road trip down to the Livingston Designer Outlet. I had wanted to visit the outlet for a long time because I had heard from friends that one of my favourite stores were located there - the Cosmetics Company Store. To find out that there is a Cosmetics Company Store just over an hour away, means that this post might become a a regular thing.  For those who don't know, the Cosmetics Company Store sells discounted makeup from brands under the EstÄ“e Lauder Company - such as MAC, Tom Ford, Origins and Bobbi Brown.

Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment RRP £42 ORP £31.50
Can you say impulse buy?! I've wanted to buy a Glamglow mask for the longest time, but I was too afraid to commit to the high price tag. The CCS had all the different Glamglow masks for sale, such as Youthmud and Thirstymud, and even the special Power Rangers and My Little Pony collabs. I decided to go for the Flashmud Brightening Treatment - because who doesn't want bright, radiant and luminous skin?

Clinique Bring on the Glow Highlighting Kit RRP £28 ORP £19.75
This may look like an impulse buy, but I can assure you that it was not. The Clinique Sculpting Highlight Chubby Stick is something that I have been wanting to try for the longest time. To find it in this cute little highlighting kit was just a bonus. The Clinique Foundation Buff Brush that comes in the set is super fluffy and soft.

EstÄ“e Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation RRP £33.50 ORP £23.50
Now, as someone who is accustomed to buying the palest of the pale in foundations and concealers, I often cannot find my shade in the Cosmetics Company Store. You most likely find the more unpopular shades that have not sold as expected. In fact, this trip has been the first ever time that I have found my exact shade of foundation in a Cosmetics Company Store, both here and in America. I am so excited to try this out! My Estēe Lauder Double Wear Foundation is running low and I believe that the Estēe Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation is the newest edition to the brand.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer RRP £16.50 ORP £11.75
This trip has also been the first ever time that I have found my shade of concealer in a Cosmetics Company Store, both here and in America. I struggled of the longest time to figure out my foundation/concealer shade in MAC; it took several different samples. When I spotted this, I had no doubt in my mind that I needed to try it.

MAC Powder Blush RRP £19.50 ORP £4.13
To be honest, I have no idea why I picked this up except that it was a steal at £4.13 for a MAC Powder Blush. The shade is This Could be Fun which seems super intimidating at first glance but when watched the intense pink mellows out to a nice soft pink shade.

Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil RRP £17 ORP £11
For the better part of the past two months, I lost my beloved Benefit Kabrow! Which would have been fine, had that been my only brow product. How I never realised I only had the one brow product I will never know! Since then, I have found my Kabrow! but I purchased this Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil as a backup incase it ever decides to go walkies again.

MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner RRP £16 ORP £5.63
I find that I can never have too many eyeliners. However, I seem to lack in the brown eyeliner department - black eyeliners are my way to go. What I'm not 100% sure of with the MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in Definitely Feline is that it dries down to a shiny finish, however I need to give it a proper couple of test drives until I pass judgement.

MAC Lip Pencil RRP £13 ORP £9.25
Like eyeliners, one can never have too many lip liners. Especially when they are in a nude pink shade. The MAC Lip Pencil in Hip 'n' Happy is such an every day shade that I will be able to air with the vast majority of my lipsticks.

MAC Nutcracker Sweet Matte Lipstick RRP £17 ORP £5.50
On the same Autumn/ Winter train of thought that was behind my purchase of the Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour, I picked up a MAC lipstick from an old limited edition Christmas collection. Leap of Delight is such a bold purple shade that I might struggle to use, but for £5.50 it waste much of a good deal to pass up.

Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour RRP £16.50 ORP £5.50
Autumn is coming, I repeat, Autumn is coming! In celebration, I have began to research and start looking into buying more berry toned lippies. I love a good liquid lip, and I have never even thought about trying the Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour in Boom Pop!

When comparing the retail and outlet prices of this haul, I noticed that I saved around about £91. Although to be fair, if it hadn't have been for the reduced outlet prices I probably would have bought half as much. Discount makeup just makes me a bit crazy; trying to snap up all those deals so I don't regret it later.

What products have you tried before? Have you ever visited the wonder that is a Cosmetics Company Store?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
