Of Love and Lipstick

This past weekend I celebrated my 25th birthday! I refuse to believe that I am now a quarter of a century. It feels like yesterday I graduated high school, but it's actually been SEVEN years!! My mind has been blown. I'm not a big birthday celebration person; my ideal way to spend my birthday is to go shopping and have a nice lunch. So, on the day of my birthday, I took a little road trip down to the Livingston Designer Outlet. I had wanted to visit the outlet for a long time because I had heard from friends that one of my favourite stores were located there - the Cosmetics Company Store. To find out that there is a Cosmetics Company Store just over an hour away, means that this post might become a a regular thing.  For those who don't know, the Cosmetics Company Store sells discounted makeup from brands under the Estēe Lauder Company - such as MAC, Tom Ford, Origins and Bobbi Brown.

I have been wishing and wishing to try some Colourpop goodies since I first started this blog three years ago! I just struggled with the idea of placing a large order and then getting crazy customs fees on top of that. Not to mention they only started shipping to the Uk earlier this year! So, I finally decided to bit the bullet and place an order. I decided to place a big order and have it shipped to my Disney World hotel during my holiday last month. My Disney World trip was a joint present for my university graduation and 24th birthday, so what was a little more splurge?

Recently a Bobbi Brown counter opened up not too long ago in my local Debenhams beauty hall! I have always wanted to try Bobbi Brown products, but I always get distracted by new launches from brands that I've tried already. There are still quite a lot of makeup brands that I have very little experience with, and Bobbi Brown is one of them.  So I decided to change all that and pick up some items that I had been keeping my eye on, or just really caught my eye. I picked up a Shimmer Brick Compact, an Art Stick Liquid Lip, a Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, and the Skin Foundation Stick. I'm so excited to get using all of these!

It feels like such a long time since I've done a drugstore haul! I have been resisting, holding myself back from any big spending sprees, but I thought that doing a Spring high-end haul would be nice. To be truthful, I really only needed to get foundation but who can resist a Debenhams Beauty Hall.

Korean skincare is super popular right now, everyone is loving it. They are some of the 'it' products of this year. There are now so many places that you can get K-beauty products, Asos and Sephora being two of them. But, a couple of weeks ago Tk Maxx ran a big K-beauty Event which is where I went a bit wild. I mean, K-beauty is great as it is but at a discounted price? Sign me up!  Some of the brands I seen were; my favourite K-beauty brand Etude House, Tony Moly and Elizavecca. Enough of me rambling though, and get into the mini-haul!

I never realised how amazing the Lush Boxing Day sale was until now. It's only a small store where I live and the queue was wrapped round the whole shop. They had people waiting outside to be let in! I was weighing up whether I could be bothered waiting, but then I seen that the Christmas products were all half price. I was sold. I went around picking up anything with a star sticker on it knowing that if I didn't then I would be waiting until next year to try them.

It's been a while since I've posted a haul up on my blog, purely just because I've not done any purchasing worth mentioning. Just little bits and bobs here and there. I've been picking up bits and pieces while completing my Christmas shopping. 

In case you all have not heard, Lush launched their Christmas products. Only joking! Who doesn't know that Christmas is now stocked; it seems like everyone is doing their Christmas Lush hauls now. I was not really a bath bomb person until I picked up the Fluffy Egg at Easter. Now I'm hooked! I thought that I'd join in with my little Christmas Haul.

I  bought a ton of beauty products on holiday in Florida; I could stock a drugstore beauty aisle. I have enough makeup to keep me going until my next trip in 240 DAYS!!! I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite products that I purchased. There will be a mix of exclusive to the US (or very hard to get in the UK) and normal products that can be found at the likes of Superdrug.

I once again broke my spending ban...oops! I recently developed a small dry patch on the skin just directly under my eye. I hadn't changed any of my normal, everyday products so I thought there was a possibility of it being my Benefit Boi-ing being the troublemaker. I've had it for roughly eight months so it has perhaps seen better days. This led to me deciding to try a new concealer and see if my condition changed.

I  had such incredible luck at the weekend. I usually like to visit my local Tk Maxx at least once a month, just to check up on any bargains and such. For the past month though, I had been resisting the urge. Well, on Friday the call became too strong and I had a small pop in (small in that I never ventured farther than the beauty area). What I saw there shocked me to the very core of my beauty blogging being.

A little exam procrastination! I have my Psychology final today, and I'm at that point where I not longer care what will happen. That does not bode well considering that my attendance was sketchy at best. I just want to pass, I don't care about the grade I get. So, anyway. I had a bit of another shopping trip todayyy! I hit up my most favourite store in the world, TK Maxx, and also, as strange as it may seem; my workplace. I work at a national store known as Store 21; it only opened back in March. It is a bit of a value store, specialising in homeward and womenswear, but also selling menswear, childrenswear, nightwear, lingerie and shoes. A little mix of everything. It's a bit like TK Maxx; either a bit or a miss. Store 21 I got this totally cute knitted waffle jumper! It's so warm and snuggl y; perfect for the winter weather.
