Festive Haul

It's been a while since I've posted a haul up on my blog, purely just because I've not done any purchasing worth mentioning. Just little bits and bobs here and there. I've been picking up bits and pieces while completing my Christmas shopping.

I picked up some some autumn/winter accessories for my room; I thought that it would be nice to have some seasonality to my space. I picked up this super adorable little glass tray to place on my desk. It's back and grey with a picture of a little Scottish squirrel on it. I just wanted to go 'aww' when I seen it. I also picked up a small set of battery operated Christmas lights. I thought they'd be nice draped across the back of my desk. Their multi-coloured and feel super festive! I popped into my local Yankee Candle store and picked up a little volitive angle holder, which is crackle glass and glitter trickling down like icicles.

I also picked up seven little volitive to accompany it. They were:Christmas Cookie, Angel's Wings, White Christmas, Balsam & Cedar, Season of Peace, Merry Marshmallow, and Pomegranate Cider. All I consider very festive scents! I also picked up a large jar Cranberry Ice and I am still waiting on a large jar Candy Cane Lane being delivered. I am taking my Christmas candles very seriously this year.

I picked up a few clothing bits and pieces. First you may have already seen; it's my Christmas patterned swing dress. I have had so many compliments on it already and people asking me where I bought it. I thought I'd go down a different route than the traditional jumper this year. I have been a big fan of roll-neck tops and jumpers this year. I picked up a nick Khaki ribbed roll-neck top, which I find so comfortable as it does not cling like I thought that it would. The next was a super fluffy and soft faux 'sheepskin' gillet. It's similar to like Ugg boots, so it has the white fluffy innards and the soft touch outer material. Last but not least was a simple grey ribbed jumper. It's quite plain and basic, but it has little black patches on the elbows.

My last purchase was CANDY CANES! It's not Christmas in my house without candy canes.

Am I the only one who goes gift shopping and comes away with loads of stuff for themselves?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
