Of Love and Lipstick

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips. 

One of the three Illamasqua polishes that I picked up at TK Maxx for crazy cheap; like £3.99 cheap. How could I possibly say no! It is a super gorgeous colour, both in the bottle and on the nails. It's a deep violet colour with a strong blue undertone to it. I wish that the photo showed the true colour; it appears far more blue than it actually is. It is so unique to any other polish I own as it has a rubber effect finish to it. It is almost matte but still has a very faint, subtle shine to it.

I am totally in love with this and could not wait to try it out. I saw it sitting oh-so innocently in Tk Maxx; upon which I had to dive on it before anyone else saw it BareMinerals, and anything similar to that standard, is hard to come by in my local store, so this was amazing. I was worried that it was going to contain totally weird and obscure shades but no!

Hey Not much to report, except that University is overloading me at the moment with essays and reports. I'll be happy when I finish this semester at the end of the month, and then around four weeks of blissful nothing.  When I'm studying I find that I have to pay close attention to my nail routine. They have to be perfect. Otherwise, the slightest chip or imperfection could stop my focus and irritate me until I fix it. It's just one of the little quirks that I have.
