Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'Nude-ist'

I have been on the hunt for that perfect nude lipstick, so far to no avail. I went to Superdrug, H&M, Accessorize, and even MAC! Just nothing seemed to catch my fancy. I seemed to be in one of those 'never satisfied' moods; I mean if you can find a lipstick at MAC to make you happy, then give up. Fortunately, I decided to try one more store before giving it up as a bad joke. Boots was my saving grace; especially with their offer of '3 for 2' across the makeup section.

I picked up the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet, as it's something I've seen pop up on the internet form time to time. I thought I'd give it a try as I had nothing to lose; and lots of bloggers said that it is a genuinely good product.

Th shade I chose was 07 Nude-ist because I was looking for that nude. It is a barely there muted pink colour that has a matte effect. The texture is not as dry as the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks and more like the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream, or the Collection Cream Puff. If you press your lips together you can feel the slight tackiness, but other than that they are quite transfer-free.

I am very happy than I never found anything at the other shops because the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet is amazing. It is the perfect nude for me! It is very much a 'my lips but better' shade on me, as my lips are already quite pigmented. it just gives them that extra boost of loveliness!

Have you tried any of the other Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet colours?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
