Festive Cranberry Face Mask

I feel that the older you get the more you anticipate and look forward to the holiday season. There is just such an indescribable feeling when Christmas stuff starts to appear in store displays, and I must admit, I start to go a little mad. To me, holiday season prep begins in October. I'm not starting my official holiday gift shopping until nearer to the end of November, so I popped into my local Lush store to get a pick me up. There was so much holiday stuff there that I went a bit mental just smelling everything. I picked up a couple of things, but I want to focus on one item in particular.

I picked up the Cranberry Festive Face Mask. A Lush face mask is a staple in my opinion as they just feel os nice and luxurious. Since the cranberry one is limited edition for the run up to Christmas, I thought that it would be nice to try it before it finishes. It smells a lot of cranberries (duh!), but it also reminds me of like an my grans old-lady soap, which was rose scented. I am the worse at describing scents but that is what it reminded me of, a really strong floral scent. It is a nice rosy pink colour and is chocked full of cranberry pieces. The argan oil makes the mask feel very moisturising, which is amazing for harsh winter weather.

While I do love this product I don't think I would repurchase it. I like that it's limited edition for christmas, as there are so many other Lush masks to try.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods. Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in. MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look. For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
