One Month Blog-iversary!

(Please ignore the old photo; I was so young then...)

It's hard to believe that my blog is already a whole month old. It seems like yesterday I started up; I suppose to some that's been going years, it may seem like nothing. In the course of the last month I've learnt;

It won't happen overnight. Period. It may take ages for the first followers and comments to come in, but don't let that get you down!

Reviews are not the end all of blogging. My 'October favourites' and 'Christmas Tag' have been viewed more than some of the product reviews.

There are so many more wonderful and exciting brands out there that I never knew about before I started doing research for the blog - Etude House I'm looking at you

There are so many ways to reach people these days; social media's reach knows no boundaries.

Quite frankly my photography sucks. I need to majorly improve that aspect much more.

I can only hope that people continue to like this and find it interesting. After all, a blog is nothing but a lonely place without other people.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods. Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in. MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look. For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic...

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
