Fun in November



It's finally November and you know what that means,
Christmas preparations are under way.

I really enjoy it when the evenings become shorter and the tree are bare, it screams to me ‘winter is almost upon us’. With the onset of the colder months come some of my favourite things:

 Chunky knit Jumpers

Lots and lots of tartan clothing


Bonfire night

Sparklers at Fireworks shows

Thick, woolly scarves

The sense that the holidays are coming


Ice skating on outdoor rinks

Cinnamon scented candles

Fluffy Socks

Comfort Food

Salted Caramel in everything


Berry coloured lipstick

Hot Chocolate (yummy!)

Better TV shows: I'm a Celebrity get me out of here, X Factor, etc.

More soothing baths (including bath bombs)

Cute pyjamas


Adventures to see other parts of Scotland in the changing seasons

Listening to rain pounding on the windows

Turning on the indoor heating

AND


Finishing semester one of Uni!!!!!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic...

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
