Rihanna Viva Glam Keepsakes Bag

I'm super upset that it's taken me sooo long to write up a post on the most amazing things that I bought during the Christmas period. I'd like to take this moment and introduce you all to my MAC Keepsakes Viva Glam Bag. *pause while Angels sing in a harmonious choir*

I had always dreamed of owning MAC lipstick. Despite the various other high quality brands that are out there, such as Charlotte Tilsbury or Bobbi Brown, the MAC brand is still the one that everyone places their hopes and dreams on. It's the makeup lovers dream brand, and the makeup artists go to brand. There is just something about owning MAC makeup, and specifically their lipsticks, that seems sooo...grand; sorry I can't think of how else to describe it.

I originally went to purchase this in-store during one of my many shopping trips to Glasgow, only to find that at the time, they had yet to be released in the shop. To say I was devastated would be an understatement! Upon my return home I was quickly on the MAC website, purchasing it.

Look at how pretty and sparkly the case is! It is unlike anything else I currently own. I was very pleased how my package arrived; safely protected in an cardboard packaging box and lots of tissue paper. I was originally worried that it would be all squished in a large letter parcel, but thankfully, my fears were not founded.

The best part of this purchase was nestled inside the bag; in amongst yet more tissue paper. I missed the release of the Rihanna collection, and so never had the chance to get my hands on any.

Rihanna Viva Glam I
It's more of a subtle red shade, more on the blue tone than orange, with a frosty finish. It is a much more everyday wearable shade, than say Ruby Woo. It feels quite moisturising to me, which is surprising.

Rihanna Viva Glam II
I'd describe this as an ash brown lipstick that has a frosty silver shimmer finish. I is one of those lipsticks that is so unique in shade that you have to have it. I had to put on a few slicks of this before it reached full opacity.

Did anyone else invest in the Rihanna Glam Bag, or did you get one of the others? There was such a range to choose from!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
