Garnier Micellar water

To be honest, I never thought that I would buy this product! I remember when it first came out I thought it was just 'fancy packaged water for your face.' Now, I have been officially converted to the religion that is micellar water.

I have been using this morning and night for just over a month straight, and I can tell what a difference it has made to the removal of my makeup. When I use it in the morning, it feels really refreshing and awakening. I am surprised at how much first can accumulate on the face overnight, even after having a through cleanse the night before. I use it on a cotton round to remove only my eye makeup at first, really concentrating on removing my mascara (I always find that the hardest to completely remove!). Then with a clean cotton round I remove the rest of my face. When using it on my eyes I experience no stinging that I expected, and my sensitive skin does not react negatively. When I use it in the morning, it feels really refreshing and awakening. I am surprised at how much first can accumulate on the face overnight, even after having a through cleanse the night before.

The simple clear packaging means that it is easy to judge how much that you have left, while the pink cap makes it cute enough to want to have on my desk to display. The lid is a bit iffy though; the dripping means that sometimes I use too much. I would have preferred it to be more of a pump dispenser, similar to some nail polish remover bottles.

I love it, and will definitely be repurchasing it upon it's eventual run-out.

Have you converted to micellar waters?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
