October Favourites

It's been a while since I've done a monthly favourites, and I have to say I missed it. September was a bust with coming back from America part way through, so October was my best time to sit down and write one!

Eos Lip Balm in Honeydew

Winter is coming...and that means that the lips have to stay hydrated! Eos is just so easy to throw in my bag before dashing off to University. Honeydew is my flavour of choice at the moment, but Vanilla-Mint is a close second.

B&BW Pocketbac in Sonoma Sunflower Blossom

This scent pretty much is the scent of this entire month. It's a sweet bright, floral fragrance that just reminds me of summer, and happiness. It's a great scent to perk you up if it's a dreary day.

MAC 168 Brush

Love this brush! One of my favourites and the best I've truly got in my collection. I use it to just swirl blush on my cheeks and, occasionally, dust a little highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones (excuse the dirty brush!)

NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu

I've got a lot of classes and work to get done at university this semester, so most of the time my makeup has to be done in a flash. This Butter Gloss has been my to-go staple! I gives such a nice nude, everyday colour to my lips.

Just a couple of favourites this month, but they are all things that I really love!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods. Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in. MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look. For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
