September Monthly Beauty Favourites

This is Halloween! Halloween! HALLOWEEN! Finally October has graced us with her presence, and I could not be happier. This is my time of year; when the leaves start to change and the air gets crisp. It just makes me so happy, I don't even care that the year is close to its finish. With that being said, I have found myself to be really stump in a slump. I've got a bit of a writer's block, a lack of 'oomph', if you will. I've been doing a fair bit, only to be unsatisfied with the end product. After this, I'm going to take a couple of days too remind me of why I enjoy this so much.

But anywho, you're here not because you want to read my rambling, but because of my monthly favourites. I feel like this month I really used some good solid products but these at the best of them.

Max Factor CC Cream in Fair
this has been my base of choice all month long. It has a very light coverage and a natural finish. I don't think I have ever wore anything so light before, but with a bit of concealer on my spots, it was as good as any of my foundations with medium coverage. And the colour is a spot-on perfect match.

CND Solar Oil
I had acrylic extensions applied to my nails this month, which explains why there is no nail polish favourite, so I have been taking extra special care of them. Cuticle oil is not something I used to care about but now I am a changed woman. The difference in how well maintained and healthy my cuticles are, is amazing. The Solar Oil smells so lovely, like sweet almonds.

St Ives Apricot Scrub
The St Ives Apricot Scrub was first featured in my Skincare Routine post earlier this month, but it has been a favourite for much longer. I first discovered this just before June, as a one of my travel face products, and it has became a constant fixture. I use this between 2-3 times a week, and I have noticed a visible difference in my skin texture; especially the lack of dry skin.

L'oreal Infallible 24hr Lip Colour in Invincibile Sable
I kid you not, this is the ultimate long-lasting lip product. It's a dual need lip product with the colour at one end and a moisturising balm on the other. If I go to bed wearing this, forgetting to take off my makeup, I will wake up with it still intact. No smudging, nothing! I challenge you to find a longer lasting lip product. The lip balm is okay, but the lip colour itself is fantastic.

L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim
Love, love, love it! Super thin precise liner is what I'm all about, and this delivers. The product his such an intense and pigmented black that just leaves me in awe. This makes me feel like the winged liker queen (even though, lets be real, I'm nowhere near!).

So there you have it: my September monthly favourites. How many of these have you tried before and agree with? What do you not agree with? let me know in the comments below!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
