Brand Special: Etude House!

I can't remember when I first became aware of the Korean beauty brand 'Etude House', but DO remember being in absolute awe of their super cute packaging. It's all very girly and pink.

Before Christmas, as I was doing some research, I discovered that months earlier Etude house had brought out a collaboration with Disney. To me this was a match made in heaven. In the collab, there were four sub collections that were each based upon a Disney princess; Snow White, Belle, Cinderella and Jasmine. After a thorough look on eBay I discovered that some pieces of the collection was available; making me squee with happiness.
One of the items I got was the Princess Rose Cheek Blusher. This was a part of the Belle collection and came in two varieties; Pink Rose and Coral Rose. My first impression was that the packaging was cute; the blush came in a box designed like a storybook.

The spine of the book includes the quote 'I want so much more than they've got planned'.

The formulation is very soft and almost creamy (though it is a powder blush). It is very pigmented, without being too 'in-your-face'. It has tiny little shimmers in it, which gives the face a brightened flush.

The other product that I got from the Disney collection was the Princess Happy Ending Moisture Vivid Lipstick. This was available in both the Snow White and the Belle collections. There were two colour options; Apple Red and Purple Rose.

On the side of the packaging is the quote 'Everything's going to be alright'.

I chose the Apple Red variety, which again came in super cute packaging. The box was white with red and gold images on it, such as apples, tiaras and castles.

The colour is a vivid bright red that's very much 'in-your-face'. The formula is very smooth and creamy, leaving the lips feeling very moisturised. It also leaves a nice shine to the lips too!

I was super hyped from buying these two that I bought another product from outside the Disney collab. I had been looking for a cream blush to round out my current collection, and I kept seeing a cream blush from Etude House all over eBay.

This is the Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Colour. It is a cream blush that comes in five different shades that are all named after sweet desserts. In the collection there is: Blueberry Cheesecake, Orange Choux Cake, Peach Sugar Cake, Raspberry Mousse Cake, and Strawberry Chiffon Cake. How yummy do they sound!

I chose the Blueberry Cheesecake, which is a very light lilac shade. It's pigmentation is strong (I only have to apply it lightly to my cheeks), and it's VERY long lasting. Although it is an all over colour, I only use it as a cream blush. It is very similar in colour and tone to MAC Saint Germain which I use on the lips instead.

What do you think? Have you tried any Etude House products before? You have to admit that they are super cute and feminine!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
