Super Chocolately Nutella Mug Cake

I had a craving for something seriously chocolate cake yesterday, and was very sad upon seeing absolutely no chocolate in my cupboards. I realised that I had ingredients for baking cakes of ever kind, which is what prompted me in the direction of  mug cakes.

Nutella Mug Cake
4 tbsp self-raising flour
4 tbsp granulated sugar
3 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 large egg
whipped cream
sprinkles

The recipe is sooo simple.
Make sure to choose a large enough mug so that the cake doesn't overflow. I think this recipe can really be split between two smaller mugs. I like to collect mugs which is what lead to me having such a large cappuccino mug; perfect for mug cakes!

I just tossed the dry ingredients together in the mug, while all the wet ingredients were mixed in a jug. I poured the wet ingredients into the mug; mixing well with a fork. Make sure to be thorough with the mixing so that there are no pockets of flour or cocoa hidden at the bottom.

I placed the mug in my microwave and set the timer for a minute. I ended up adding a further two minutes for the cake to bake completely. If you want it slightly melted in the middle then try between a minute and a half to two minutes.

I topped my mug cake with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles; dusting with cocoa powder is another option if you have no sprinkles. But really everyone should have sprinkles!

Anyone have any amazing recipes that I should try?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic
