Get Ready with me: Summer Party

I thought I'd do another get ready with me; the first for this year! I was going to an outdoorsy summer party which I thought would be a fun 'subject', as such.

I kept my face makeup very simple: L'Oreal True Match foundation; Makeup Revolution Blushing Heart Blusher; Essence Make Brows Wow! Kit; Benefit Boi-ing concealer, and bareMinerals Mineral Veil. The look was finishes with my MAC cremesheen lipstick in Creme Cup; which was very subtle as to now drag attention from they eyes.

I decided to play up the eyes more for this look; taking an approach on the smokey eye. Urban Decay's Eden Primer Potion was my primer of choice, as I'm prone to oily lids. I used bareMinerals Ready Eye-shadow 4.0 quad in 'The A List'. I used 'Fashionably Late' all over the lid with 'Swanky' as the transitional tone. 'Black Tie Optional' was used lightly in the outer corner and crease, while 'Icebreaker' was used to highlight the inner corners and brow-bones.

I used my ever trusty Rimmel Glam Eyes eyeliner, which is the only liquid liner I ever use, to create dramatic cat eyes. I'm never normally one for false lashes, unless on stage, but any type of party calls for them. I only ever use Eyelure lashes; in this look I used Eyelure Naturalities Intense. These are full on dramatic lashes that fan out takes the outer corners.

Summer calls for buying new dresses! The party I was going to was more of an outdoor get-together, than anything else, so I thought this would be appropriate. In general, I don't bother much about the style of a dress, but flowers are my thing! I picked up this little beauty in my local Tk Maxx one day when I was supposed to be just 'browsing'. It's a pink floral dress with a sweetheart neckline from Cynthia Rowley, for £19.99. There ware also plain coloured ones when I was there, but this one was more my style. It has pockets at the hips and a gold zipper running down the back to the waist band. I feel super, crazy feminine in it!

I'm not normally one to wear anything with height unless to a formal 'dance'; anything with a heel intimidates me. I always feel that they will be too uncomfortable, so I was wary buying these. I was so glad I was WRONG! These heeled sandals feel amazing on; so cushioned and comfortable. I have no problems walking in them either, as I feel like I'm walking in a pair of flats. I purchased these from the wide fit section of New Look for £24.99.

Let me know what yo think! What is your summer got to party outfit?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic
