Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!

The day is nearly over here in the United Kingdom, but there is still plenty of day left over the pond. I love Halloween but, personally do nothing. There are plenty of parties currently going on, up I prefer to sit down to a Most Haunted/ Ghost Adventures marathon! I also set out my plastic, light up pumpkin in the window to let trick-or-treaters know I'm home.

Although Halloween is nearly over, I have had time to get one more makeup look up. My last look is the 'skele-girl'. I've seen a lot of people, today, preferring to only do a half skull but I think that it's creepier to do a full face.

The steps to this look were very basic. I smothered my face in my Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, before using a powder on to (hoping to get my face as pale as possible without white face paint). I used Benefit Boi-ing #1 on my lips to conceal them slightly.

I used a black eyeliner to make faint marks where I would shade in. Using a large powder brush, I took a BareMinerals powder eyeliner in Stable and applied to my eyes, cheek hollows, as well as under my chin and down my neck.

I curled my eyelashes and swiped on some Bourjois Max Volume. I knew that it would be very distiguisable but I felt that it really made the look feel finished.

I used the same eyeliner to shape and fill in the tip of my nose. The mouth was created using the same products; I outlined the shape for the eyes before filling in with powder eyeliner. I then took a clean makeup removing wipe and ran that down the length
to created the appearance of bones.

The messy nature of the powder eyeliner meant that by the time I had finished, I had great big black smudges across my face. They were easily touched up by wiping with a clean wipe and using some for foundation.

I felt like it would be a cop out to just put on a red lipstick, so I thought I'd try my had at doing one similar to a skull jaw. The end result is...weird. I think next year I may have to work on my skeleton mouths. I tried it like a normal jaw on a skull, but that also looked weird.

Overall, I'm very happy with the look and I hope others enjoy it.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
