Hi Guys,
Tonight I went to see the local production of 'Avenue Q' that some of the members of the theater society that I belong to are in, and let me say, it was fantastic! The musical numbers were some of the funniest I've ever heard. There were some parts that made me flush with slight embarrassment, and moments that feel warm
and fuzzy. I'm not going to say anymore because I don't want to spoil it for those who don't know, but it was fantastic!
I love dressing up to go to the theatre, regardless of whether it's on the West End, National tour, or local production. Since I only go once-in-a-blue-moon, it just makes it feel special.
I decided to go with silver and black as my theme. I tried out a grey toned, smokey eye (which never translated onto the camera well), with heavy mascara. I also wore a nude lippy, so that the focus was primarily on my eyes.
The animal print top was the only decent thing I could find to go with what I had planned. I had one of those 'I have millions of clothes and yet nothing to wear' days. The jeans were my nice formal black skinnies (is there such a thing as a formal jean?) My silver heels were a must. The people I was going to the theatre with have only ever seen me in baggy, workout clothes and so I wanted to make a different impression on them.
The spiked statement necklace gave the outfit a bit of an 'edge' which paired with a leather jacket. I also filled a black leather satchel with all my necessities, like my makeup bag, glasses, phone etc.
Overall, it has been a good night filled with laughter and giggles, and I will forever remain a 'Theatre Geek'.
