YSL La Laque Couture in #48 Rose Scabiosa

Evening :D (at least where I am!)

Today I went out and treated myself to some new nail polish. I had such a hard time choosing and ruminated over the decision for a good half hour. In the end I walked away with this new beauty. It's a YSL La Laque Couture, in the shade #48 Rose Scabiosa.

I had never previously tried any 'luxury' brands of nail polish; instead I bought only what could be found in my local pharmacy stores (drugstores?), such as Barry M etc. If all other, similar, brands are like this one then I can see what all the hype is about.

The brush is similar to that of the Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel, as they both fan out which gives great nail coverage. The consistency of the polish is ...
neither too thick, so that it takes FOREVER to dry, or too thin, which would need far too many coats. The formula was also very creamy, but left no patches once applied. I applied two coats and the polish was completely opaque. Once dried, the surface was very shiney and could probably go without using a topcoat.

Rose Scabiosa is a very pretty color; almost like a 'Barbie' pink, but with more of a purple hue. The packing is very cute with the could YSL cap, but I find that the metallic cap is easily marked which makes it quickly look dirty.

Overall, I'm very impressed and can see myself going to buy more in the future. It can be bought online (or in select) Boots stores for £18.50. They currently have an offer that if you buy two YSL products then you get a free gift.

Farewell to Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

As you may, or may not, know Lime Crime are discontinuing their Unicorn Lipsticks. Such a sad thing, I know. I remember first hearing of the lipstick from a family member who had one in their collection. I always promised myself that one day, I would have a Unicorn Lipstick. When I seen their Instagram post about the discontinue, I immediately went onto their website and bought not one or two, but THREE Unicorn Lipstick. Let me tell you I have never been happier; their are no post buy regrets on these babies!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.
Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I knew th…
